One week to go for Lachlan!!

This time next week Lachlan will be well on his way!! And I'll be a basket case as I'll have not done a tenth of my list!!!!

Whew!! Passport arrived!

I kept forgetting to organise Aden's passport and although we had the photos and the form completed signed and witnessed..... It remained on my desk un dealt with!!
I'd forgot that I needed to make an appointment with the post office and blah blah blah. Painful really when there was a fraction of a day UNDER six months validity left on the damn thing! Well I wasn't taking any chances though........ This is AMERICA we are talking about! I can see it now, Aden being detained at LAX...... Hmmmmm maybe I was a little hasty! Lol
I will do the visa thing today. Love the Internet! Online and a little fee and voila! They're letting us in.
Really love the uniform Lachlan is going to wear. Great colours and it is a good quality too. A great keepsake for after. I've decided to get his name embroidered on the 3 bags he was given. When I saw them at the handover I freaked out! 20 odd IDENTiCAL bags!! A recipe for bedlam!
The days are racing by and still lots to do.....

All booked and paid for!

I finally have got the whole thing as perfect as I could, time wise and as perfect as I could, cost wise! I have researched this trip so comprehensively I have surprised myself!
I went to the travel agent with my notes, prices, details and itinerary.
Let's put this way....... I am a travel agents nightmare!!! Unfortunately for Harvey World Travel, I knew all the prices and deals going around and I don't think they were going to make any money out of me!!!
Little did they know, I had Mark putting the tight squeeze for our budget to be within reason so I knew what I had to work with!!!
I actually saved a fortune on this trip by actually doing a little research and booking everything myself on the net.
The only down side is Christie isn't coming :(
Now I have to work like crazy to get the end of year done with the pool and some Christmas things pre done.

Uniform, questions answered....it's getting closer!

Had a very informative meeting last night and Lachlan received his uniform and luggage and backpacks. I was able to take home a copy of the itinerary. This was so very important to me as it finally gave me a timetable that I could work with. And now it changes our plans again!!!!!
I am so sad that we have to drop New York from our plans :( it just wasn't viable and no matter what I did, I just couldn't put it all together so we ticked all the boxes! In saying that too, the cost just escalated enormously for three precious days in the Big Apple.
When I saw Lachlan's itinerary, I realized we would only see ONE game!! Hahaha. Spending all that money to see one game was ridiculous!
After another marathon discussion and planning session, I have completely changed what we are doing and the order we are doing it!!!
I finally got my last draft finished at 1.30 this morning!!!

Freaking hell..... Changing the goalposts!!!

I am going to kill Mark!!! Just when I've organized everything....... He wants to have less time in New York and more time in NC! That is fine.... I'd like to have more time watching Lachlan playing basketball anyway..............but don't you think he would of mentioned that TWO WEEKS AGO!!!!!
Back to the drawing board!

So much choice... Not enough money!

I have spent hours and hours on the Internet searching hotels. Trying to work out where to stay and now we only need one room it does make life easier (and cheaper). I do get so confused with all the the taxes though!!! 5.87% tax for occupancy $1.00 per person $2.00 for breathing in the room 8.88% for taxable tax!?! I just made that up! But my point is... I find great accommodation, or so I think, only to find even though it has enough beds to sleep us, the price is only for two people! Extra $$$$ for each additional person!! Even though I stated this when I enquired about the booking! Arrgghhhh! Then some recommendations have put us off too! Dump! The door hits the bed the room is that small! crap! DO NOT stay there! were a few that come to mind.
Mark has looked at a few too and his tastes are very luxurious for our budget!! "Tell him he's dreamin'!" I have!!! I hope to have it all done and dusted by Tuesday! Fingers crossed!

Qantas are back up and moving......

Thank goodness! Qantas are back up and moving. Funny as we might not even be flying with them now!  Probably should get a move on with the actual booking!  I have just realised I haven't sent Aden's passport off! Was really good and got the form all signed and photo done but it is STILL sitting in my tray in the office......... will get that done tomorrow!
